Dr. Payton brings her experience in outpatient orthopedics, school-based pediatrics, and sports physical therapy to the Cortland community. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Ithaca College in 2018 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Ithaca College in 2020. She went on to complete a Sport Physical Therapy Residency at the University of Rochester, where she gained advanced experience working with athletes and individuals with a variety of orthopedic and sports-related conditions.
Throughout her career, Payton has had the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and abilities. She enjoys helping people get back to the activities, sports, and everyday things they love, and has a special interest in working with young athletes as she continues to grow her experience in sports pediatrics. Her experience as both a physical therapist and collegiate softball coach has given her a unique perspective on movement, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and athletic performance. Payton takes the time to get to know each patient and understand their individual goals, creating a supportive and encouraging environment throughout the recovery process.
Payton lives in Dryden with her husband and their daughter. Outside of work, she enjoys coaching youth softball, trying new coffee/ice cream spots, and spending time with family!
