DR. SARAH JANE CARLTON

Sarah Jane brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, performing arts experience, and movement education to her work as a Physical Therapist. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Dance Studies from Humboldt State University and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography from University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

Before becoming a Physical Therapist, she spent years performing, teaching, choreographing, and directing within the performing arts world. Her experience includes serving as Assistant Director of The Dance Arts RAD School in Illinois and Director of the North Atlantic Dance Academy. She has also performed with companies including Astrum Dance Theater, Fusion Jazz Company, Humboldt Light Opera Company, and the Broadway touring cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Sarah Jane specializes in Hypermobility Disorders and Performing Arts Medicine, with a focus on functional retraining, movement efficiency, and injury prevention for dancers, musicians, and active individuals. She is passionate about helping performers and patients build resilience, improve body awareness, and continue doing what they love without limitations.

In addition to her work in the clinic, Sarah serves as a Physical Therapist with the Eastman School of Music and is an adjunct professor in the Dance Department at SUNY Brockport. On weekends, she also offers individualized dance technique coaching and personal training sessions in the clinic.
