Dr. Anita Platis

Specialty Focus Areas

Anita is a native of Staten Island, New York and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University Brooklyn in 2021. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at North Carolina State University.

Anita’s passion for pelvic health began during physical therapy school after gaining her first exposure to the specialty which was previously unbeknownst to her. She realized that she herself was suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction. Anita is committed to breaking the stigma surrounding pelvic health and starting the conversation in order to spread awareness.

She really wants people to know that pelvic floor dysfunction, whether it be pain, incontinence, or anything else is not something that should be ignored or regarded as “normal” in anyone of any age or any gender. In the coming years, she hopes to go on to receive her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC).

As she just moved to the area, Anita likes to spend her free time exploring Rochester and the surrounding areas. She also enjoys traveling, binge watching Netflix, and spending time with loved ones.
